Halfway FD

  1. Staying in a beautiful Fire Station tonight in Halfway Maryland. It is an all volunteer Department. The hospitality has been unbelievable. Jim, the Chief, took us out to dinner in the Dept's 15 passenger van.

Met a Baltimore FF tonight at dinner who will be riding with us the rest of the way to NYC. Funny thing is, he was a student of mine at Oxnard Fire academy in CA in 2003. Small world!

Tomorrow's weather prediction for the 77 mile trip to DC: 6-10" of rain!

I can hear the thunder and lighting outside right now, The Halfway firemen advice? "suck it up"!

  2. Rain like that doesn't sound fun in a car let alone on bikes. Be safe and remember that "ducks" love the rain. You're closing in on the goal so push ahead one mile at a time. Good luck - see you guys on Fri. Glenn
